D&D 5E Treasure?

There are the things of LIFE to spend money on, things a lot more fun than scraping and saving every last gold piece on yet another "plus" to add to an utterly mundane piece of gear.
Different strokes, meat, poison, you know the drill.

The game assumes the PCs may have magic items or possibly not. It is up to YOU not the game to decide if they do or don't and how many. The published adventures so far include magic items, so saying the game assumes you won't have them is incorrect.
I should have been more precise and said that the CR and encounter balance guidelines assume the players don't have any magic items.

I hope the DMG will provide guidance on how to adjust the CR and encounter balance guidelines if the DM decides to add magic items to his game, as well as wealth by level guidelines and suggested prices for magic items. If not, I will probably come up with them myself, but it's not going to make me any less bitter, jaded and cynical that 5e is not providing support for the way I like to play the game.
