Tribe 8

I don't know about N. Cal, but I've been toying with the idea of running over the EN-boards for a little while, now. Of course, I can only access the site from work at the moment, so that's rather on hiatus for the time being... :(

If you're interested (even tentatively), shoot me an email and I'll keep you in mind if and when I pull my act together.

Regards,

Barry

Any Tribe 8 players in Northern California? I've been trying to find people to play Tribe 8 for years, but since the d20 craze hit, nobody will.
My wife (Tory Adore) and I are in Northern CA, and coincidentally enough, are also in Catulle's Vampire game on the boards.
I think Tory has been interested in Tribe 8 since Catulle mentioned possibly running it online, so we may play in the near future...

Reapersaurus, I'll shoot you an e-mail when I get out to the West Coast (sometime in October). I'm actually looking at getting a place near Sacremento (I'm going to Travis AFB).

I'm sorry though... I don't have the time right now to do a message board game.

Take care all,
rat

I'm actually planning on taking some D&D characters through a dimensional rift and having them drop into the d20 Vimary as described in the Player's Handbook for a short excursion. I personally think Tribe 8 would make a much more harrowing experience than Ravenloft.

:D

I've been a fan of Tribe 8 since the beginning and I own several of the books, but I would personally reccomend checking out the first edition...especially since you might be able to pick it up for cheap on eBay now that the 2nd Ed. of Tribe 8 is being released.

I was actually a big fan of the prose in the original book but the Player's Handbook is definetly a must-read.

Is it a coincidence? Yesterday I was in a FLGS picking up the 1st ed Tribe 8 book, & I was telling my friend about it. His first response was "isn't that a feminist band?", & I reply that it is, & it seems a little odd coincidence that in Tribe 8, the female stance becomes more important, & that the Goddess originally delivers man from the Z'Bri, so I just assume that those girls were fans of the game. Then again, I have no idea of the history of the band, or really of the game, so I'm not in the position to really say.

Yep. It is. The original author of the game (Phille Boulle, who now does the fiction line @ White Wolf) had never heard of the band. Dream Pod 9 only found out about the band when people started asking them about the connection. Having no real fans of lesbian feminist punk music (at least english feminist punk) on the team would help explain this. Apparently the band does not really know anythign about the game but get a kick out of the similarity - it helps the hit counter on their web page :)

This story was told to me by one of the original writers for the game, and verified by speaking to Marc Vezina the senior developer at DP9. If there is a connection, they've been good at hiding it for 3 years.
