Tricks, or at least interesting Traps

Something I haven't seen addressed is a while are dungeon tricks--like the sort discussed at the back of the 1st edition DMG--there's not a section on them unless you count Traps in subsequent DMGs unless I've grossly overlooked something. In fact, most Traps are rather mind-numbingly dull, here's another pit trap, another dart/arrow trap, etc. Seems like something there might have been a thread on, but I've tried searching the "Threads too good to lose" archive, and haven't found anything. Any ideas?

A "weight-lock" that only allows 1 character through at a time. When the PC's try to squeeze more than 400lbs through at a time the "lock" is revealed to be on the edge of a (spring/magic/giant-weight powered) centerfuge.

They are spun around as they must roll to hold onto their weapons lest they fly into cracks and disappear. They also are damaged each round until they can athletics/acrobatics to escape.
