Troll Lords = Dire Trolls?

So has anyone noticed that the Troll Lords seem to have stepped up to the plate on this whole 3.5 thing?

Path of the Magi: Citizen Games/Troll Lords
Lost City: Necromancer/Troll Lords
Book of Familiars: Troll Lords
Stone/Wood Village Book: Troll Lords
Vampires/Liches: Necromancer/Troll Lords
Encounter Table: Necromancer/Troll Lords
Art of War: Troll Lords

I've probably missed one or two but...

It looks like, outside of the Necromancer material, that there is a change going on from the type of material originally produced from the smaller modules to larger, more utility based sourcebooks.

At this point, will Erde see a 2nd Edition, updating it to 3.5 and perhaps incorporating more OGC settings into it's material like the various Mongoose books and perhaps a special deal with the Bluffside setting?

The world of Erde

Funny you should ask. We have been working on an Erde expanded set for some time.

The monster manual for Erde has been written (needs to be brought up to date) with monsters like the Mogrl and Ungern fleshed out considerably and we have begun working with Andy Hopp on the layout (you see his stuff all over the place..Monsters of the Endless Dark from Goodman, sweet book by the by). This will be followed up quickly by a "Players Book of Erde" (though this is still hush hush lol).

Erde 2nd edition will follow where the whole is brought up to 3.5 and cleaned of the earlier editorial problems ... and with the map inside. As for the map it is being drawn in total by Clayton over at www.morningstarmaps.com (he's joined the troll crew lately).

You all might want to come to the Troll Dens and tip back a mug with us...its going to be an exciting year (and of course don't forget Chenault and Gray, www.chenaultandgray.com, which launches in August).

Ooh! I love Clayton Bunce! So, this should be very cool. :) He does a fantastic job with his maps and brings in a lot of artistry and great ideas. AND he is wonderful to work with!

In fact, he did all the maps in my company's debut product "World of Whitethorn 1A: The Hamlet of Thumble":

GamingReport's Butch Curry said:

"I was particularly impressed with the cartography in Thumble; eschewing computer generated maps, cartographer Clayton Bunce has gone with lovely, hand-drawn maps. The low-tech approach is particularly appropriate for the Hamlet, and the three-quarter view used in the town map gives you a real feel for the look of the town, far more so than a traditional overhead map would. Its a deft touch; the maps are certainly one of the high points of the book."

He's also working on all of the maps for "World of Whitethorn 1B: The Village of Oester"! There should be an announcement for that product very soon.
