Um, not to doubt thee, oh thou benevolent mods, but wasn't the troll poll a serious poll with one silly option in? I for one, am intrigued by the veriety of creatures that all go by the monicker "Troll", and would have liked to mention the Terry Pratchett trolls and their relation to Dwarves, and perhaps even see if some people change the Troll in their games to one of the archetypes. The trolls in the Gnome books (illustrated by a Dutchman, Rien Poortvliet, BTW, and a true staple in dutch households, canonising that Gnome as THE gnome) also are quite amusing (a bit Orcish really) if you do not think about the cartoons of course...

I just had the feeling the thread was hijacked and hence closed, which I feel particularly sorry for, since the author is one of my hive-mind aliases :)

Never fear! I've told Magic Rub that he can reopen the subject, just not as a poll. If you want to try and beat him to it, feel free. :D

But it was certainly an OT poll, and you know the ignominious fate of those.

I'm one of your aliases? That's news to me. But the Hive-mind thing, maybe? I had a feeling that I should come to the Meta Forum. I didn't know why I just came here, & I've never been before... Odd?:confused:

Weird - maybe, although I haven't gotten a bounce yet. I know someone else at Hotmail who is missing messages today, too.
