Trombone-toting bards?

Driddle

First Post
I'm looking for some feedback on bard characters who have focused their musical skills through trombones (or sackbut-like sliding horns). Any difficulty portraying bardic abilities or keeping other players/characters from giggling too much? And what personality types, music styles or other character design elements have proven most appropriate for the musician?

I had a bard once that played steel drums similar to those from Jamacia. Lets hear it for odd-ball bards!

Take Improved Unarmed Strike so you can kick ass and toot your own horn at the same time!

Improved Trip isn't a stretch for this! I actually did it in the 8th grade.

Damn, yet another Perform category for my gnome to work on. He yodels now and accordions are next.

Yes, good call. I think you could easily lump most brass instruments in one perform category. Most folks who go to school for this learn most of the instruments.

Actually, you'll need a gnome sized trombone. Your arms are way too short to reach past the bell.

My brother used to hit me in the back when he was set up behind me (I played trumpet, he played trombone).

I wonder if the DM would allow an enchanted trombone that dripped potions from its spit valve?
