Tron: Ares | Official Trailer

I can't tell if it's just the trailer, or an indication of what the movie is like, but that looks like too much "real world" for a Tron movie, IMNSHO.

Tron is essentially 80% aesthetic. Tron Legacy obviously changed the aesthetic (there was no realistic way to keep it the same), but maintained the ratio. This trailer looks like they're trying to make more happen in the real world, and I'm concerned that could kill the vibe. Hopefully it's just trailer editing and the movie remains as disconnected from reality as the last two.

so,here's the plot: Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

I have mixed feelings, but I suppose my outlook for this movie is trending upwards.

Edit: Or is it downwards? Not sure I can actually tell.

They might have finally found a role that Leto can do well; Soulless AI.

I think the point is that the Tron programmes have finally found a way to exist in the real world (which the franchise has been hinting at since it started) - so Humans are now dealing with real programmes.

Jeff is still milking it, so good on him. Leto looks like he could actually be likeable in this
