Bill fulfills the conditions of the tribunal’s sentence, although he and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) find that Jessica doesn’t quite turn (out) as expected. Trying to solve the mystery behind her most recent vision, Sookie heads to a pie shop with Sam and later puts the squeeze on a philandering police officer to get info. Jason helps clean up Amy’s mess, worrying about their future, but unable to break away. Tara’s anger over Lettie Mae’s refusal to bail her out of jail is tempered when Maryann Forrester (Michelle Forbes), a wealthy “social worker,” comes to her rescue. Disgusted by the hypocrisy of a vamp-bashing state senator, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) decides to pay him a visit on the campaign trail. In Bill’s absence, a vulnerable Sookie finds comfort in Sam. A distraught Jason finds himself in hot water with Bud (William Sanderson) and Andy (Chris Bauer), again.

I thought this was a great episode. The best was Jessica as Bill's newly turned vampire.

I'm dying to find out what Michelle Forbes is up to.

Thank you, writers of the show-from the bottom of my heart; thank you for removing that evil thing from the show. Yes!

I would almost agree, except for one thing.

The photo? Reeks of lazy storytelling. WHY wouldn't Sookie and Sam ask to see it, when they clearly had the upper hand. Okay, I would have bought the photo if it were deliberate sabotage to hide the photo. Some random person burying it? Come on. Just awful. For that matter, they decide to go flirt and make out instead of, you know, getting the photo? Just plain lazy.

The doesn't need to be an excuse for Jason's guilt to be stretched out, because Kwanten is actually a decent actor.

I was so disgusted with it that for me it completely dwarfs anything good the show did (Jessica, killing Amy, Lafayette in suit) tonight.

Eh. That's a standard trope. It didn't bother me so much. And that doesn't take away from the awesome power of Jessica's awesomeness.

OK, there was some really, really bad acting again by the vamps. That opening scene was just pure schlock melodrama.

"It's your own fault--you and your affection for stupid cattle...."

"I fulfilled the conditions of my sentence. I murdered this innocent girl...."

"I find myself doubting whether you were ever truly human."

"Thank you!"

"DAMN YOU!"

And then later we get more of Eric trying to be the biggest poseur in a TV series since, uh....anybody.

Just such a weird change in writing when it switches from vamp to human conversation. It's weird that the humans with their petty issues seem much less banal than the imoortals.

Oh, and I'm calling it now: Rescinding Bill's invitation is so going to be an issue when René goes after Sookie, and Bill at first won't be able to get in to help.
