Up until the last two episodes this has been my favourite season of the show so far. The plot twists they introduced in this ep left me a little cold. Some characters seem to be acting out of character. I'll still be tuning in next season but it was kind of an unsatisfactory ending for me.

Besides that, GRRM mentioned that they were going to be doing some sort of promotion for the Game of Thrones TV show in conjunction with the finale of True Blood. Did anyone catch it? I didn't see anything, but I wasn't tuned in before the show.

Sam's transformation in this season from good-guy-with-a-rough-childhood-who's-misunderstood into cold-blooded-murderer-who-I-have-way-less-empathy-for is disappointing.

Last week's episode would have been a better finale, IMO.

This episode didn't even feel like a finale; a lot of it felt like it was abandoned mid-thought rather than be an actual cliffhanger. Bill and QSA fighting seemed an utterly pointless scene to have. The business with Hoyt's mom seemed incomplete for the sake of not finishing the story, versus the story reaching a natural peak. Lafayette's story was interesting, but not something that needed to be in a finale episode; if they choose to explore witches next season, it would make a entry into it.

While I'm not a terrible fan of the Hotshot story, I liked how that thread was left. Presumably Jason will go after Crystal, but he's also taken on responsibility for other people. It felt like the end of Empire Strikes Back.

I also liked Tara's exit, and I think it informs a lot of the choices they made with the character's story this season (and last). It made perfect sense for her to run, especially once she found out Sam was a shifter. I liked the advice Sam gave her, and especially that he was supportive of it.

I was exactly the opposite about Sam's story - while it was a decent cliffhanger (if textbook), I just didn't care about the story at all. Even if Sam didn't shoot Tommy, it doesn't really matter if he lives or dies to the story, and so why bother?

I doubt if Sam actually killed his bro. That would be too siimilar to Jason's predicament this season. But it all felt like a huge mess; a pile of cliffhangers crunched up together.

Next season I hope they just focus on a couple of storylines. The show seems to be getting lost right now.

It wasn't so much Sam's shooting at Tommy, I agree that it's unlikely that he killed him.

It was the earlier murders that really made him less interesting to me. Now if it turns out that he did indeed shoot Tommy, I'll just go, "yeah, Sam's a murderer, no great surprise." It won't really mean anything.

Yeah, unsatisfactory all around.

Ending with Eric and Russel taking a sunbath would have been much better.

Does anyone know who was suppose to kill Pam?

Yeah, pretty sure it was Eric's daytime guy at Fangtasia. Pam off-handely mentioned she'd had to kill him, iirc, she says his name at that point.
