Trying to be a player, I'm stuck, help!

The DM

First Post
Basically I have to find somebody... and I can't. She vanished from her house some time within the last day, I know nothing more.

What I’ve tried

Ø Searching house
Ø Casting sending (no reply)
Ø Casting Scrying (was blank)
Ø Find the path (a path couldn’t be found)
Ø Talking to my all powerful buddy for help… he couldn’t be found
Ø Casting speak with plants on a plant in her house, plant knew nothing
Ø Hiring somebody to cast Detect teleportation. There was no teleporting.
Ø Gather information check, nobody saw her leave the house.

Any ideas? I'm starting to think my DM is getting back at me for all the difficult situations I put him in. :P

I just recalled, I can cast Commune. However with the experience penalty, I want to be sure I can get what I need to know out of it with yes/no answers in 15 questions or less. I think I can do it... but not sure. Any suggestions on questions would help too. :)

A discern location spell is among the most powerful means of locating creatures or objects. Nothing short of a mind blank spell or the direct intervention of a deity keeps you from learning the exact location of a single individual or object. Discern location circumvents normal means of protection from scrying or location. The spell reveals the name of the creature or object’s location (place, name, business name, building name, or the like), community, county (or similar political division), country, continent, and the plane of existence where the target lies.

To find a creature with the spell, you must have seen the creature or have some item that once belonged to it. To find an object, you must have touched it at least once.

If that doesn't work, the DM doesn't want your friend to be found magically. If that's the case, I doubt you'll find any answers magically. Ask around mundanely. Look for leads. If that doesn't work, put out the word that you're on the lookout for her, and paying gold for tips, and then wait. If the DM wants to throw this at you as a story hook, then someone will give you a lead. If not, what else can you do?

If you can't cast Discern Location, find someone who can, and ask for help. Sounds like you might have a powerful friend, see if he can arrange for it to be cast for you (as long as the caster has seen the friend in question).

What about finding someone with the "Track" feat and seeing if you could find her trail that way. It seems silly that someone with the means to guard your friend against all magical means of discovery would forget about covering their physical tracks, but then again, people with such power tend to be arrogant which leads them to forget about the simplest things. It seems unlikely she was taken the old fashioned way, but ya never know. A rogue/cleric with invisibility sphere and silence could walk out without anyone seeing her.

I'm posting while playing here. I was finally able to locate her, but things didn't go how I planned. My full-caster is now trapped deep underground in an antimagic field. :P Anyways, thanks again for the tip.
