trying to find a feat

There is a feat somewhere that makes it so a Spellcaster can't make a concentration check when next to the person with the feat... dose anyone know what the name of that feat is or what book it is in?

Mage Slayer, first appeared in Miniatures Handbook, later reprinted in the Complete Adventurer.

I don't of anyone who's actually allowed it to be used in their game though.

I've got a Cleric Cohort with the feat at the moment... with Practised Spellcaster to make up the caster level penalty.

To take this a bit farther, what are the specs on the feat? I mean couldn't the caster just take a 5' step and its no longer next to the person, or is it within X feet of the PC w/ the feat or what?

I believe it's any spellcaster the character threatens.

If they can just take a 5' step and not be threatened, they probably don't need to cast defensively anyway :)

This is why I never understood spellcasters... I'm pure melee guy myself...

But unless you were the unfortunate victim of some bullrush or grapple or something, why would you ever chess move yourself into a corner?

Some of our guys will just take the concentration roll and cast while the figher continues to pummel... just doesn't make sense to me...
