TTRPG Podcasts

What don't you like about actual plays? I ask because there are 2 I'm listening to that are way more like listening to an audio drama (or radio play). I'm guessing they're just very tightly edited OR the group has enough skill to keep things moving as if it were an audiobook with some rolling here and there. ALSO (VERY IMPORTANT) episodes are 90 minutes or less.

They are:
  • No Quest for the Wicked - 95% of episodes are a long-form Starfinder story. Currently season 2 is maybe a dozen or so episodes into the story. It's 1 GM and 2 players. It has a comedic tone, but it's not slapstick. They ocassionally will do a mini-series with another system. Most recently they did a space-based Morkborg that was a session 0 and 2 episodes. They did a Tales of the Valiant mini-series that was 2 or 3 episodes. (Because their podcast site is blocked at work, here's a YT link ) A GREAT starting point is their 11-episode mini-series No Jobs for the Wicked. () I was dying laughing the entire time.
  • The Misfortunate 4 - it's about 3 or 4 episodes in. The premise so far is what if you mashed up American cowboy themes with a company town (actually planet). The characters are pretty compelling and I'm enjoying the story. Slightly less funny than No Quest, but still has a good amount of humor. They're playing Tales of the Valiant.
Anyway, I know you said you didn't want Actual Plays, but these are incredibly different compared to anything else out there so I thought they were worth a mention.
