In the Library [sblock=Drivan Only]The book was published about 30 years ago, so it's conceivable. Boneswarm A Boneswarm can occur when several minor, skeletal undead die within close proximity to one another, within a relatively short time period. The necromantic energy and psychic resonance released by their near-simultaneous deaths causes the fragmentary skeletons to combine and animate into a whirlwind of bones, consuming everything in its immediate area. The Valley of Bone Legionairres can voluntarily replicate by pulling themselves apart, creating up to nine duplicates in a matter of seconds. Within short order, they grow into an army of thousands. Command units include bone-tenants and bone-turions. Specialists include bone-zerkers, bone-sassins, and bone-locks. All command and specialist units have a higher degree of intelligence and durability than standard legionairres. TURTLEDOME! Contracts This seems to be a dead end. Most of it is paranoid rantings. About the only factual, corroborated information you can discover is that failure to comply with a contract results in painful, lingering death with no hope of resurrection. Journal of an Adventurer You uncover a gem of information: a treatise by a psion attempting to study the effects and nature of the Approvalometer. The device draws in emotions directed at a particular 'gladiator' team and alters the nature of reality. The writer stresses the supreme importance of harmonious relationships within a team, as well as the necessity of currying as much positive regard as possible from anyone attending or viewing the match. For instance, she notes the constant charity work of Migtroth the Magnificent as providing the warrior with 'tons of psychic currency' that influences his success in battle. She also notes another incident where a party of adventurers experienced major problems when a single member lacked social skills and inadvertently created hostility from several influential individuals, causing the opposing team to acquire a few 'psychic tokens' of antagonistic energies, permitting them to decimate the party. Time: You have spent an additional 7 hours in research, for a total of 12 hours work. Make an Endurance check if you choose to continue. --- A rather lovely half-elven girl approaches you as you take a short break and rub your eyes. "Hi," she says, smiling, "I couldn't help noticing the subjects you're studying.
