Even the loud chirping of the frogs faded away in the comfort of sleep. It is new noises that wake the party in the pre-dawn light for a entire bevy of crepuscular wrens flit and scoot around the the campsite picking off tiny insects. They scatter in a quick flash of shadow once the people start to move, chattering their displeasure at having been interrupted.</p><p></p><p>Following the paving stones toward the know direction of the lake, the path wanders a bit instead of making a straight line. The surrounding pecans are replaced with the pears and plums that Raven Elk and Vittero had discovered the evening before. The fresh fruit from the trees making a fine breakfast.</p><p></p><p>Once the path opens into the area surrounding the lake, a low heavy fog obscures the water, though a distinct gurgling sound can be heard of its movement. The area around the lake had long since been laid with large flagstone, making it seem artificial. The lake, or pond really, is about 50 paces long from north to south and about 20 paces wide.</p><p></p><p>Standing here in the open, as the rising sun begins to burn away the fog, a clear image of the Keep can fully be appreciated. There are 8 definitive peaks, each of which has been meticulously chiseled into a decorative facade. Each facade is a bit different with its columns and statues, but each has peak has also been bored to create capacity within. This is obvious even from the floor of the valley. If starting north and following to the east, the peaks were numbered beginning with one, between peaks 7 and 8 pours a stream of water that follows a guided cascade to feed the lake, Since the lake is not over flowing and there is no visible drainage, there must be a way for the water to escape underground.</p><p></p><p>Manufactured paths can be seen leading to each peak, as well as the window from which the crew descended and to the entering stream.
