A pair of wolverines has discovered the bait and are currently pulling at it, trying to rip from where it is tied. While wolverines are smaller than wolves, they can prove to be quite dangerous animals, having the ability to spray a noxious liquid like a skunk, and are rumored to be partially sentient. Though their hides will only produce up to 60% coverage of an average person, they do have the protective quality of standard leather.
