The Spiofthests, all of whom make some greeting toward the strangers, are friendlier than the Markidians, some of whom wave, but few speak, even thought the common language heard is Markidian. The precaution of hiding any overt trinkets, beneficial to Benders, turns out to be unnecessary, as nearly every Spiofthest and even a few Markidians are adorned with some talisman or fetish. Even people with no talent for sensing waylines wear items like they are jewelry or badges of honor. Seeing this puts the party more at ease.</p><p></p><p>Adisakti, being Shimadow, and Astarte, being a female Centrin, both look quite similar to the Spiofthest residents, Adisakti. being a little pale, but Astarte having the exact coloration. Raven Elk and Taylar definitely stand out, but no one gawks or points or says anything, untoward.</p><p></p><p>Passing the Constabulary and its plaza first, the Clerk on duty there is one of the Markidians who actually greets the travels and makes a friendly gesture. He makes no attempt to halt them, merely waves. Crossing over the ford, the next significant structure on the party's right is that of the Homage to Dawn, it plaza being just passed the main structure. A carved, wooden symbol, about the size of an adult torso hangs from a beam extending from the apex of the roof. It is most definitely the wrong symbol. An important looking person, possibly the priest but at the very least someone who works with him, is currently standing in the plaza conversing with a vendor displaying crates of cherries and some clay bottles that are, likely, cherry wine.</p><p></p><p>The youngish man holding a ledger and writing stile greets the party as they approach and gives a gesture to indicate that he will be with them momentarily.
