I've thought about putting a small screen in place of my DM screen. I could cast things to it, even use it for sound.

Computer monitors are also getting cheaper as long as you aren't going for the latest 'gaming' version. Can sometimes find old versions in thrift stores for cheap. Dell Ultrasharp monitors come with a stand that lets you easily raise/lower the monitor. If you already have a laptop at the table, many OSs easily handle adding a 2nd screen. Bonus for the Dells, you can get a designed for sound bar that clips under the older monitors. Check before buying, the newer ones seemed to have lost that feature.

You can also daisy-chain DisplayPort monitors from a single source. With the right monitor and a newer Thunderbolt enabled laptop you could connect the first via USB-C, then the second to the first via DisplayPort. I've set clients up like this many times. Instant full DM screen via monitors and you can then choose to mirror or extend the desktop, depending upon the content you have.

Having a dedicated, specially made gaming table with a display built in did work for the multi-purpose area where I ran my games when I was running them in person. Also, I wanted the option to continue to make use of digital battlemaps when away from home, so I had gaming case made. I used Collabrewate, but I'm not sure they are still in business. Mine looks almost exactly like the one in the photo below. Between games I stand it upright on a dresser to be used as a TV in the guest room.

I used it very heavily for over 5 years, not it is mostly uses as an extra video gaming display by my sons. It has short peg legs that keep it a bit raised above the table to protect against spills. There is an extra cooling fan built into the case. The handle isn't very comfortable if you have to carry it for a long distance, but it is sturdy. The plexiglass cover has held up well, which is good, because it is not easily replaceable.
