Keep on the Borderlands
Ahhhhhh! Nostalgia!
I bought the red box Basic Dungeons and Dragons with Keep on the Borderlands inside. I think that was 1980.
I wanted to play a fighter so bad, but my brothers made me be the DM because I was the one that bought the game, so I must know the rules.
When they figured out that there was more treasure in the Keep than in the Caves of Chaos I lost all control of the situation.
From then on we'd play every weekend no matter what.
Whenever we didn't have to work, we'd start a game on Friday after school and play until Sunday!
I've been hooked on RPG's ever since.
Now my son runs games for me. (Although light on the rules and heavy on the treasure and magic... He's only 8 after all.)
I wonder if he'll have the same nostalgia for gaming?
