Hahaha.

I can just imagine the people involved patting themselves on the back and saying "This will shows those Ha$bro monsters!"

Ehh, good luck to em.

Is it just me or is there nothing on that page but a logo?

Wow, those guys can sure stick it to those ha$bro folks by making a rip-off logo

I think its just the logo. In fact the whole point of the page seems to be that you can put their logo on your products instead of someone else's logo on your products. Somehow I fail to get it.

It took me a sec to realize it was not completely serious. hehehehe

But it does state something wonderfully. One company does seem to hold the reins of the d20 system, even if it is supposed to be Open Game Content/ Open Gaming Liscence.

I just hope that in the future, it doesn't revolve into a change of rules that forces all the d20 publishers out there to go "HUH you mean we have to follow that now?"

Cause then we'll end up with one big company, controlling all these little/medium/etc companies on how to publish.

I think they intend it to look similar enough to the d20 logo so that people will think they're the same thing. Then, you can produce something that people will think is d20, but isn't restricted by the d20 license. Like, for instance, if you wanted to release something with character creation rules in it...

Look at EverQuest Player's Handbook. It does not have any Wizards' trademarked "d20 system" logo on it. But it does have a copy of the OGL. And it seems to be selling well. Pick one up yourself.

As for your concern, if Wizards were to revoke the royalty-free Trademark License, the OGL will still be in use. They cannot revoke the OGL noor any versions of OGL should they decided to make future versions. OGL is forever.

Of course, what they can do is withhold future content to become OGC, but that's a minor setback. We got a lot of creative game designers to fill in what holes left in the system as it continues to evolve. The SRD is also forever Open with OGL.

Of course, it does have the word "EverQuest" on it, which may help things a little. ;)

Actually not a bad idea for an idiot like me, who doesn't understand all the OGL blah...blah...blah crap. Of course, I would probably just ask Ryan or WotC if my product was alright.
