Two difficult questions...

I have two quite difficult questions...

1. I've heard that in the whole D&D history, there was a spell, that had a name of the real person in title, something like Clinton's icy grasp ;) ... Anyone knows something about it?

2. What is the name of setting which was the basic for first edition od D&D and was later adopted for AD&D? I mean what was its original name, and what name it had after "adoption".

I'm sorry for my not very good English, but I hope that you will be able to understand what i'm asking for...

Regards

I don't know about the spell but the name of the setting was Karameikos, or the Grand Duchy of Karameikos. Something like that... It wasn't really all that grand, but not too bad either.:)

Cool, you're in Warsaw!

JeffB is correct about Mystara/the Known World. As for your first question, I'm about 70% sure that it's Nystul. My memory is hazy, but I think that's correct. Very frustrating; I remember reading about this, but I don't remember where and when!

Well, a number of spells are based off the player characters of some of the original crew... Gygax's old character Mordy, for example, has a number of spells named after him.

Thats all I can think of though.

You aren't talking about the "Drawmij" spells are you? That's Jim Ward backward, y'know.

This would probably be the 1e 7th level Druid spell Chariot of Sustarre. Dennis Sustare is named in the 1e DMG Credits and acknowledgements.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about Nystul's Magic Aura et.al.

Named after none other than Mike Nystul, who I think most recently did the very neat Whispering Vault, which was kind of a Cenobites-type thing.

Teflon Billy to the rescue! Yup, that's right; it's nice to know that my memory isn't completely shot. Thanks for the confirmation, TB!
