Two questions - Tome of Magic

Paragon Kobold

Truenamer: The law of resistance states that the DC of a truespeak check rises by 2 each time the Namer successfully speaks an utterance. Does speaking the reverse of an utterance count as a use, or are they effectively two seperate utterances?

Binder: Does anyone know what they mean by Lerajes ability to "literally wound your targets pride"?

I haven't read the truename section yet and I don't remember much about the original in Dragon. As for Leraje's granted abilities, that's just a bit of purple prose. Being on the receiving end of that ricochet ability would probably wound some NPC's pride, at the very least.

I've only got as far as the shadowcaster class description but this book is on course to be my favourite 3.x supplement. I want to play a binder or introduce a new player to the group and have them play a binder. Shadow is also looking good.

Reverse counts as a use, yes.

P.S. I playtested a drow shadow caster. He did very well 1v1. Unfortunatly, the campaign was mass battle vs. undead. :(
