Two-Volume Settings and the Legacy of Editions Past

I like the 2 books idea but they are too thin, no where near enough info in them. If they were in the region of the 3E FR guide then, yes that would be enough. Even with the DDi there is not enough info at all to run a campaign without a lot of DM work. IMO if you use a published campaign one of the reasons is because you don't want to do lots of DM work. The current model is fine (1 players, 1 DM) but not enough in those books. With formatting taken into account I reckon the 4E FR books are equal to about a third of the words in the 3E FR guide.

Conversely I use my own campaign and these books are ideal not too much stuff but enough to mine for ideas etc!
