Tyranny of Dragons DM Screen

Although the art is great and on par with the other D&D 5th Edition products, having almost half of the interior taken up by art and NPC images is a complete waste of space. It pretty much ensures that, besides being pretty decor, the screen is only useful for running Tyranny of Dragons; only one panel - the one that contains descriptions of the game conditions - serves a useful purpose in any other campaign.

I'm sorry but the only point of this "DM screen" is for GF9 to make money. There's simply no real value in this for the customer (the DM), other then to hide dice rolls. The art placement is bad, NPC images would be more helpful on the outside than inside. The DM can see the images in the modules. The tables are pointless. The conditions are incomplete. This is the exact opposite type of product that the new edition of D&D needs to have associated with it.

So much potential... The art is amazing. However, this little item is not primarily an art display board. It is primarily a tool for a DM to use to run a D&D 5E game. Or, at least, that is what it was supposed to be. It is not functional at its primary objective, which is, frankly, odd. I would assume that Wizards did not simply say "go do whatever". To have this lack of functionality get past both the company that made it and Wizards is odd.It COULD have been something beautifully functional. Instead, it is simply beautiful (in an artsy way), but mostly non-functional...

if the spell cards didn't make you cringe, then this ill timed screen will. pictures in the wrong spots, no useful information for the DM. Another sad product from Gale Force Nine.

The new 5e DM screen has a better layout but this one did a good job filling in until the WoTC screen was ready.

A GM's screen with NPC illustrations on it? With encounters for 1 specific adventure? That's just ridiculous. The tables on this screen are of very limited value and exclude some important stuff from the DMG that would be hard for GMs to remember. A very poor first effort.
