UK Gamers: WWDDGD is 19 September!

Hi, all--

I've revised the list of participating shops in my post above; the list should now be pretty final.

Good news and bad news. The good news is that we've added about five new sites to the list.

The bad news is that Forbidden Planet are no longer on the list. Sorry, Russ, and sorry London gamers. Hope you're able to find another venue that works for you.

Wow--WWDDGD and International Talk Like a Pirate Day on the same date! How cool is that? :D
And there is no Game Day event listed for Penzance. What a missed opportunity!
(Will the plastic cutlasses be in the costume stores that far ahead of Hallowe'en?)

Hi, all--

A few more sites have been added to the list. I've updated the complete list with them, above, but for your convenience, here they are separately:

Belfast: Serenity Games
Brighton: Wargames Heaven
Oxford: Gameskeeper

Enjoy!

Shame about Forbidden Planet, but great news about the Brighton store.

Russ, if you want to head over to Brighton for the day we can guarantee a warm-welcome. :)

Please do! I don't know much about Wargames Heaven, other than they've just opened, they're in Brighton, and they apparently have a lot of OP space. But I'd love to see them have a successful launch and quickly build a community of gamers (of all stripes, not just D&D). Hopefully WWDDGD can be a part of that!

Over the past decade, local game shops have been in decline. Here in the UK, at least, it seems there's been a bit of a bounce lately, with a handful of new shops opening over the past year. I'd love to see that trend strengthen!

I can confirm from Heselbine that they have 16 gaming tables, and that the owner, whilst not knowing a lot about RPGs, would very much welcome people into his shop to game no matter what they're playing.

they also have a coffee bar, apparently, which fills me with glee. :)
