Very, very good. The first few weeks I was in the UK, I just wondered why things were so expensive here... there seemed to be no apparent reason.

This is one of many factors, and it should be dealt with harshely and severely - it damages free trade, consumer and wholesaler purchasing power and hence reduces the effect of economic stimuli only for increasing the profits of Manufacturing companies. Socialists and Libertarians alike should rejoice at something getting done to improve the economic conditions of this country.

I really hope the OFT hits Games Workshop in the pocket. While not the same as Hasbro's former oligopolistic arrangement, GW has long thwarted attempts by independent retailers to discount GW's products...

When I was in Japan last September, I went to a store that sells GW's products. A box of plastic LotR miniatures was slightly cheaper in Tokyo than in London - and they're made in Nottingham!

When I was thinking of getting GW's plastic fortress a couple of years ago, I found that its price in Texas was lower than anywhere I could get it (online or off) in the UK. If it hadn't been for the shipping charge and possible duty, I would have ordered it from the US. In the end, I just didn't buy it.

It's high time that the OFT put a stop to manufacturers-distributors like GW determining the retail price of their products at independent stores in the UK.

It's on eof the things most galling to me as a resident of the UK -especially since I have seen it handled differently - I honestly think that the OFT is doing a very good job, but it needs to be everywhere at the same time at once. I hope they can use the fines as resources in uncovering more of this... ****.
