Ultimate Dragon Killer

hrm... Ok, I'll bite :D

How about an archer? I've seen a deepwood sniper deal tremendous amounts of damage in only a few rounds, though I admit it depends on luck... Not a very specialized build, granted, and certainly not the best, but worth a look IMO. In any case, it seems safer than the charging paladin tactic. I'd say a Ranger5/Deepwood SniperX.
Get some pearls of power (for Hunter's Mercy) and potions of haste (to cast it), then fire at range (2-300 ft range increment at higher levels) with a magic longbow (with burst capability and bane(chromatic dragons)) and Greater Magic Weaponed arrows. The first shot is an autocrit, and you have 3 retries to try and get criticals with the subsequent shots as well. Assuming you hit 2 crits (1 is automatic, I think 1 more is reasonable with 4-6 tries), that could be about (1d8+13)x5 + 1d6+4d10+2d6 ~= 120 points of damage, meaning 240 in a round, from about 250 feet away. If you can deal with a -2 penalty, that could be 500 feet away. That buys you at least 1 round if you caught the dragon flying overland (and thus not buffed with hastes, etc).
After round 1 you slow down, though, especially if you don't have enough wisdom to memorize another Hunter's Memory. An Oathbow could up the damage output, I guess...

Anyway, that's my bet. Like I said, it's not the best, but you wanted suggestions... The cleric + harm is the safest bet IMO.

Wyrmslayer PrC

You said you wanted to see a Dragon Slayer character.

But there really isn't that much specialty class stuff vs dragons.
So here's the Wyrmslayer PrC put together way back on the boards - THIS is the idea of a customized character that has the ability to combat dragons better than anyone else.

IMHO, the Ride-By Feat protects the rider and mount from all AoOs, although I confess that is not really what the letter of the rules says. YMMV

Regardless, if the Dragonslayer Mount has Spring Attack, and the Dragonslayer Rider has Spring Attack or Ride-By, there will be no AoO. Problem solved.

Some very good suggestions - the part about the intelligent mount taking a cohort rider I think is ingenious. I will pull that one in a different game where I am a player if I ever get the opportunity.

Ok, so I will give you all a hint as to my dragon slayer. He is an archer and he does have levels in Deepwood Sniper.
