Um... Look inside, DnD image theft...

The new Bud-K catalog came a couple days ago, I finaly got around to looking through it... Bud-K is one of those cheap-o knife/sword catalogs. Good stuff to look through, not to buy, basicly.

Anyhow, I saw a knife in there that made me stop, so I pulled out the Monster Manual, and checked... sure enough...

The image in question.

The item being sold by Bud-K.

I mean, I suppose it's not impossible the image is being used legaly... Oh, wait, I'm pretty sure it is impossible :)

*edit* DARNIT it's hard to get this link to post right! Nothing does it right. So just copy paste it and enter it, since it wont link right...

*editing my edit* Apparently, the links work for everyone except me, so... :)

Depends on if Wizards owns the art, which they probably do.

Lots of artist get to keep the rights to their art and can reuse it in multiple projects.

I'd get in contact with WotC, but all I can seem to find on the WotC site is e-mail adresses for customer service and such... I would think I would want their legal department, or something.

Anybody tried right-clicking on those webpages?

Mmm.....Irony.

In fairness, I doubt Bud K has any knowledge of the theft whatsoever... They just sell knives, they don't make them. This particular one is listed as an exclusive, but it's still just something they sell that another company makes. But unfortunatly, I have no idea who actualy does make it.

Pretty blatant.

On a tangent, if you ever wanted to have an image of the difference between a 3.5 Large Knife and a Medium shortsword, this thing will help.

Email WotC's customer service address and ask them to forward it to the legal department. I found a guy on eBay selling scanned books on CD and the customer service people let me know they were all too happy to pass that one up the line.
