UMD Vs Restrictions

Im in doubt: UMD can be used to bypass align restrictions, but how does it work with an equip that grant negative levels to persons that hold it, like a profane weapon used by a good character?
Additionally, can UMD emulate a skill requirement? Like a restriction that the full power of an item can only be used by who posses perform (dance) 5 grad.

With UMD, you emulate the alignment required to use the item in question. You make this check every time you equip the item and every time you use the item.
Lets assume it is a Sword of LOL Paladin, which requires a Lawful Good alignment or you suffer 9000 Negative Levels.

With UMD, you emulate the Lawful Good alignment, pick up the Sword and make your check.
Every time you swing the sword, you make another check (to continue to fool it).
If you're wearing the item all the time, (AMULET of LOL Paladin), you make the check when you equip it and then once every hour after that until you unequip it.

No, you cannot use UMD to make a skill requirement check. Only class features, ability scores, alignments, and races can be emulated.

Also remember that you can only emulate one Alignment and one Race at a time. Thus, no LOL Paladin gear with LOL Blackguard gear.

It isn't that they disappear, it is as if they never occurred. Basically, you're tricking the item into believing your Lawful Good, so it never has the chance to spring it's bad stuff on you.

It isn't an easy check and each success only lasts an hour.

If you are using the check to emulate an alignment or some other quality in an ongoing manner, you need to make the relevant Use Magic Device check once per hour.

You must consciously choose which requirement to emulate.
