Undead and Rage. Can it be constant?

First Post
If you have an Undead character (Crypt Spawn in this case, but Vampire would work for those who only have the MM) with Barbarian levels, is it possible for them to be constantly raging? That is, they allways have the +4 to Str (no effect on Con) and the +2 moral on Will saves, etc.

I know that an undead can run constantly or stay under water indefinatally but this is somewhat different.

The rage ability only lasts 3 rounds + con modifier. Some people think the charism modifier should replace the con modifier. I've heard nothing official.

It just doesn't seem as if the Crypt Spawn is going to get worn out from being overly angry. I can easily see it in something alive, but not something already dead. Something that can run across the continant and back for as long as he likes w/o even getting winded.

But on the flip side can an Undead even rage. I mean you harness all of your bodies energy into attacking. Now undead don't have Con's to speak of so they really have no body energy to work with. I have heard no official rules or anything just a thought.

Never had undead barbarians before....

Didnt somebody from WotC (Sean, the Sage, or someone) say that Undead can rage, but it only lasts 3 rounds + Con modifier (which in the case of undead is 0, so 3 rounds)??

Seems like I remember this coming up on here somewhere.

But then how can they be fatuiged, if they can run forever or what have you? Lacking a rules update, I think switching to Cha mod would be the way to go.

Technically I dont think Undead would get fatigued (no Con). But all fatigue does is deal a -2 penalty to Str and Dex and not allow you to run or charge for the duration of that encounter.

So, undead rages for 3 rounds, then suffers a -2 penalty to Str and Dex (and cant run or charge) for the rest of the encounter. Unless the DM says rage is a mind-affecting condition, in which case the undead can't rage at all.

If you mean fatigue in regards to running. Undead can either run indefinitely (because they have no Con score) or can't run at all (because they have no Con score and auto fail all Con checks [page 10 MM]).

This actually makes sense and I could see allowing it. Undead spellcasters do get to use their Cha mod on Concentration checks and Undead use their Cha mod to modify their own DCs for their own attacks.
