Undead and Wounding

First Post
Another question we tossed around awhile.

Does a sword of wounding affect undead? I say no, but the players think differently. Yes, I know it is my decision as DM...I just want some other opinion.

I'd rule that it can effect anything that has a Con score. The wounding ability drains Con...which Undead don't have. Hence, it doesn't work.

Okay, in 3.0...we have not switched over yet. There it drained HP though blood loss. Most undead don't even have blood. I guess I should be more system specific in the future. lol

That's a 3.5 answer, of course. In 3,0, it doesn't specify... but the "Vicious Bleeder" alchemical substance in the A&EG - which essentially emulates the Wounding ability - "does not affect constructs, elementals, oozes, outsiders, or undead".

I think that's a reasonable guideline for the 3.0 version.

Darn, it's happening already. I never meant to give the 3.5 answer here... Cursed 3.5 ruining my Mastery... :(
