Undead ex-paladin blackguard

I have an ex-paladin npc IMC that became a vampire and subsequently became a blackguard. Can the vampire use the ex-paladin blackguard extra ability Lay on Hands to heal itself? It doesn't specify that it is a cure, just that it heals the blackguard or it's fiendish servant. Should I assume it works as an "inflict" spell in this case, using negative energy to heal the vampire?

A Paladin's Lay on Hands deals damage to undead.

A blackguard's should in theory do the same.

But as DM, you can obviously elect to make this a special case.
