Underdark - anyone has it?

It's not really anything new however. The Aboleths were previously described in 3.x as creations of (by whimsy or design) Piscaethces the Blood Queen, an entity from the Far Realms.

I should have been more clear, the departure was that they are not necessarily intelligent, just acting out of some weird set of complex instincts. Which isn't a terrible take on things, just not quite what I'm use to.

Eh, my gut reaction is that i have most of the Underdark ideas that i need from past editions. The 4e stats will be in the Builder soon so i won't need the book for that. There was also a GREAT 3e third party Underdark book, i forget the name and company, but i recall liking it as much or even more than the official stuff.

Ah..Underdark Adventure Guide from Goodman Games

Ignore the poor rating, one guy didn't get the book he expected. The book is awesome.

I just got it today and, after about a 20-minute browse, like it a lot. It is a bit slim at 159 pages, though, but has generally good art (Francis Tsai, Adam Paquette, and Rob Alexander among others), and a nice variety of information. An abbreviated table of contents is as follows:

pages 4-25 - Into the Depths (introductory material)
pages 26-55 - The Shallows
pages 56-93 - The Deeps
pages 94-115 - the Feydark
pages 116-139 - The Shadowdark
pages 140-159 - New Monsters

Most of it is descriptive fluff of various locations, but there are also four adventures, one for each religion and each including three encounters.

As for other books on the Underdark, in addition to the Goodman Games book, don't forget about Into the Darklands for Pathfinder. It is a short book, but very nice.

Glanced through the monsters.

Blood ooze: Nasty.
Gnomes: Rock/Earth themed gnomes.
Grimlocks: interesting.
Quaggoth: The controller is wicked awesome.

I'm still left wondering when the hell we're going to get cloakers and mimics.

Gnomes: Rock/Earth themed gnomes.
Yeah, when flipping through a copy of Underdark at a book store, I thought that the gnomes in the book could be the basis of a rock or deep gnome racial option. It would be handled in a manner similar to forgeborn dwarves or dusk elves.

I'm still left wondering when the hell we're going to get cloakers and mimics.
Well, they've mentioned that MM3 will have mimics. Not sure about cloakers though.
