Unhallowed Previews

After nine previews and a couple of views from other sources like Dragon Magazine and the Month Preview articles have left me rather uninspired for this set... which is not necessarily bad, as I spent so much on Minis on the last 2 sets prior to this one. I will probably just shop some singles of rares/uncommons and maybe a small bulk order of a common or two. All in all, I will likely spend less than $50-$100 total on this package (and probably closer to the lower end of that figure), that is unless they are holding back on something spectacular that I just must have.

I was on the fence myself, but I decided to pre-order 1 case.

The ones I really want so far are:

Large Black Dragon
Pseudodragon
Bat(s)
Large Ice Elemental
Bone Naga
Devourer
Displacer Beast
Gorgon
Air Mephit(s)
Fire Mephit(s)

Since there are also 1-2 yugoloths rumored to be in the set, I'm hoping to pull those as well.

Yes, there are a few that seem pretty neato, but not stupendous enough for me to spend like I did for the last few sets. My ultimate decision will be decided when the whole rogues gallery for the set is up.

Did they mix in the Dreamblade figures now?

Do I get this right: they're hesistant to bring minis with guns, or gnomes, but there's a place for some sort of monster shrimp with robot arms?
It does look that way.

it looks like is a metal hand holding an ice pick, all welded to a chain.
That weapon looks like the classic "chain and sickle" combo with a pick being one end and the other end being a kukri. I've seen some books and some DMs introduce other chain weapons.

Also some players like to pretend their spiked chain looks less stupid that the one in the PHB.

It looks like they had to reduce paint steps; judging from the source illustration, those are chitinous plates. The flesh in between them should be the same pinkish-purplish (dare I say, mauve?) color as the face. I can see how the pebbly texture on the chitin can look like rivets and armor, though.

I'm starting to get the same sinking feeling I got when the Wardrums previews were coming out. I hope my gut instinct is wrong.

Hey Ant I notice that you're in Australia. Do you have any extra minis that you're looking to sell/trade?

The Caller in Darkness to me looks like another Dreamblade style mini.
You make that sound like it's a bad thing.
