Unusual Heroes Pictures (Master Maze Dungeons, Miniatures and Players)

First Post
I'm consolidating some of our pictures, most of which are from a huge battle that our group just had. If you would like to read about it, click here: Rappan Athuk: Ravage of The Unusual Heroes!

I'll try to post a new picture every day or so until they are all up here.

Where did you get the Dungeon sections. My players would loose there minds if I could get this for them. I think they would pass out if I started building the dungeon before them in stead of drawing it on a white board or play mat.

Please give me a link so I can find them!:D

Cool pics...

I was wondering, how much does the average dungeone piece from the dwarvenforge line weigh?

I've seen them a few places, and have always wanted to try them; but I have to travel to my players so I was wondering how "portable" they would be. I would want to (eventually) buy quite a few sets so that I could build some larger dungeons.

They have weight. I will tell you that. They are heavier than plastic, since they are made out of resin.

BUT IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!

All the sets come in a nice box that has a styrofoam inside where you can store all the pieces without worrying about breakage.

They travell quite well, and I own 3 of their sets, 2 of the accessories, and 6 of their skeleton minitures.

Rumor has it from Gencon that they are working on a mapping software where you input the number of sets you have and then you can create maps off of that.

I am hoping to get the traps set for Christmas.

So it is definitely worth it, my players love it.

What you see in the pictures cost Xaltar & I quite a bit. We had some that we bought a few years ago, but then we ordered some online & bought some from a gaming store. It was alot of money, but it was completely worth it!! :D

They are sort of heavy, too. But I think if you have a place to set it up and have it ready it's great!

Thanks! They look nice. I'm still a little skeptical about hauling them all to my car every game night, but I'll give it some more thought.

The software sounds great! That might make it easier to have a worksheet that shows what pieces go where, so that you could "build the map on the fly" as the characters explore it.

Right now I use Corel Draw.

I have all the pieces I own in one drawing that I can quickly arrange.

Then I print that map off before play and can build the map on they fly as we play. (Plus my players enjoy placing the pieces and helping out)

If your Local store carries it, I would go that route, if it is cheaper.
I got mine from the WOTC store here in Grand Rapids. They were actually $10 lower than the suggested retail price. I got the cavern set for $89 (it is supposed to be $119). I am think of possible picking up another one of those for my birthday (if I can sneak it past my wife)

Hey, if anyone wants my Corel Draw file, it is on my website (though my ISP is sometimes flakey, and I have to reset the DNS, but It is normally up) Check under the Gaming Resources, then the DND Resource. I also have a few sample maps there too.
