Unwilling rage?

The rage spell in the PHB has a target of 1 willing living creature per three levels. That implies that the recipient of the spell is willing.

Do you think that this is a misinterpretation?

No - you are giving allies the benefit of barbarian rage. If you want to see ways to throw unwilling targets into a rage, check out Complete Adventurer, or the Charm spell list in Elements of Magic (Revised) available from our very own RangerWickett of E.N. Publishing.

Or you could change one or two words in the PHB "Rage" spell. ;)
