Apparently, WotC will be sending copies of C1 The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan to DMs who run Encounter sessions in August. The module take 6-8 weeks to arrive and supplies will be extremely limited. Here is a link to the article.

Just thought I would point this out to the community.

EDIT - Apparently this was also in an ad in the back of the Free RPG day book but I did not notice it. I apologize if this has been mentioned before.

Yeah, I saw it, but forgot to put it up. I have a ton of D&D Encounter's judges who want a slot at my six tables a week. I will be rotating all the judges who have done work for me in the past the first three weeks so that they can get a copy.

I have 4e Village of Hommlet, Tomb of Horrors and now I will have a copy of lost shrine... my cup runneth over.

Aaah, The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan. This "module" (because they were all "modules" back then) was my first real experience of DMing D&D back in 1982 or maybe 83. Happy memories. I would very much like to see the revised 4e version but unfortunately I don't do Encounters or know of a store near me that runs them, which is a shame. Ah well.

I was hoping to run this as it is...now to get my hands on it.

I wonder why they don't just sell this stuff. The (RPGA) ToH was great.

I am sure it could be a decent revenue stream for them. Sure, it takes the shine off the "rewards" aspect and they would have to review using the word "exclusive" and probably delay public release, but even so I reckon there's a good market for it.

So why do I have to run a game at a store to be able to get printed modules? It's a sad year when there is only a single adventure on the schedule.

Indeed. Given how few actual adventures are being made for 4e, it is quite stupid to not actually sell the few adventures that they make.

Oh well. If the buzz is good, I guess I'll have to give a large wad of cash to an entrepreneurial reseller. Again.
