Perhaps it was the smell of blood in the water. Perhaps it may have even been some fortuitous fulfillment of having tossed coins upon the water. Whatever caused it, a lizard, every bit as long as a man is tall, was disturbed from its sunning and launches itself at the nearest person, who happened to be the Ansylin guard.
