Ur-Priest

1 - I wish that none of my following wishes will result in my death.
2 - I wish I wasn't anywhere near that opposing army.
3 - I wish that my enemies would forget about me.

Those seem pretty reasonable to me.

Or I suppose you could just cast a Heightened & Extended Sanctuary spell and go and say hello to the soldiers.

Note: I do not possess Complete Divine nor have I ever seen the Ur-Priest PrC.

Code:
Sanctuary[/b]][SIZE=1]
[I]Abjuration[/I]
[B]Level[/B]: Clr 1, Protection 1
[B]Components[/B]: V, S, DF
[B]Casting Time[/B]: 1 standard action
[B]Range[/B]: Touch
[B]Target[/B]: Creature touched
[B]Duration[/B]: 1 round/level
[B]Saving Throw[/B]: Will negates
[B]Spell Resistance[/B]: No

Any opponent attempting to strike or otherwise directly attack the warded creature, even with a targeted spell, must attempt a Will save. If the save succeeds, the opponent can attack normally and is unaffected by that casting of the spell. If the save fails, the opponent can’t follow through with the attack, that part of its action is lost, and it can’t directly attack the warded creature for the duration of the spell. Those not attempting to attack the subject remain unaffected. This spell does not prevent the warded creature from being attacked or affected by area or effect spells. The subject cannot attack without breaking the spell but may use nonattack spells or otherwise act.[/SIZE]

I would have so much fun with your PC if you wished those wishes.

Anyhow, the first two are pretty reasonable; the last one requires every single enemy to save vs. the wish, IIRC.

I like the flavor of the Ur-Priest, and it seems okay if it isn't used in conjunction with other classes that advance its caster bit while granting other stuff (usually mentioned as mystic theurge).

I'm going to try it out as just an Ur-Priest and see how it goes. (Got a backup character Ur-Priest made in case one of my current characters die.)

To be fair, using mystic theurge wouldn't grand the 3 wishes per day.

So what happens if you take a 9th level of mystic theurge, and want to advance your spells/day in Ur-Priest?

Ya, because wish 3x/day without an XP cost couldn't take care of this problem...

Oh, and if you still have your 3/day wishes, or are in any position to use them, you are hardly at your least able to handle an opposing army, which is what I specified.

Wish 2: Plane shifts you into Carcerei
Wish 3: Throws you 10,000 years into the future. At least they've forgotten about you by now, right?

Yes, many people agree that the Ur-priest is not a well-balanced class. What seems strange to me is that a DM would allow an Ur-priest/Mystic Theurge...that doesn't make any sense. Aren't the two antithetical?
