Dark Psion

I was thinking about using the standard D&D races in a D20 Future setting when I remembered GURPS Bio Tech with its Upgraded Humans and Bioroids, Genetically Engineered races. In a setting with genetic engineering, these races can be modified to fit as follows.
Dwarf: They become “Heavy Worlders”, engineered for strength and stability on a world with higher than normal gravity. Note that their Skill Bonuses should apply to metal, plastics and others exotic construction materials and not just stonework.
Elves: The current best in Human Upgrades. Greatly expanded lifespan, increased sensory acuity and a limited need for sleep. There are several templates to choose from with normal to exotic features available. Change their Resistance to Sleep & Enchantments to a Resistance to Telepathy.
Gnome: They become “Tek Rats”, engineered for knowledge and technology. Since Illusions don’t exist, except perhaps as Holograms, give them the Cybertaker feat for free. As they are masters of Cybernetics, change Speak with Animals to Speak with Computers.
Goblins: These were an accident that became a best seller. Easy to breed and considered disposable in combat, earning them the nickname of “Kennys”, they are used for everything from cheap labor to target practice.
Half-Elf: The first Human Upgrade available to the general public. Provides a boost to lifespan, sensory acuity and a resistance to Telepathy (Change as per elf).
Half Ogre: Having muscles has always been an obsession with some humans and this upgrade provides just that. They are commonly seen as laborers where strength is needed.
Half-Orc: Becomes Half-Moreaus, hey some people really like animals. Physical form can be any animal hybrid.
Halfling: Unfortunately known as “mini mes”, but actually engineered to conserve life support, survive on light gravity worlds and to handle “small jobs”.
Orc: Not all genetics programs are a success, and this one is the biggest failure. The originals were engineered to have positive animal traits, but their descendants only got the animal part. Unlike Moreaus, Orcs don’t emulate a single animal, just have an overall “Bestial” appearance and nature.
Snakeblooded: Shortly after the first dinosaur was cloned, some people started splicing dino DNA. And “Dinos” are the result of that original fad.
Advanced Genetics:
Aasimar: From the bleeding edge of genetics comes the “Angel born” human upgrade. They have some of the most advanced genetic changes, granting them resistance to harm and even latent psionic ability (Change their Spell-like ability to Psi- like).
Bugbear: Much more advanced than Moreaus, “Ferals or Furballs” are a blend of feline, ursine and other animal traits.
Dragonblooded: While the initial fad of Dino DNA may have faded, the engineers are still improving it. “Rexs” are the current version of dino DNA engineering, but there are rumors of an even more powerful upgrade in the works, code named “Draco”.
Drow: These are “Spacers”, engineered to live in deep space on space stations. They have lived away from the “natural” worlds so long they don’t remember what it is even like and are very vulnerable to sunburn and natural hazards. Change their spell resistance to power resistance, as they were engineered to NOT have psionic power and it has given them a resistance to it.
Gnoll: The closest engineers have come to a “Werewolf”, they are another enhanced Moreau-like race. Sometimes called “Fidos”, but never to their face, they are known for both loyalty and ferocity.
Ogre: An upgrade to the Half Ogre that provide even more muscle mass. Currently being developed by military geneticists.
Tiefling: When an engineer saw the new “Angel born”, he couldn’t resist a “diabolic” version. As with the Aasimar, change their spell-like ability to psi-like.
