Use any HeroClix minis in your RPG?

Felon

First Post
I was just zipping through eBay looking at various webstores for an ettin skirmisher, and some HeroClix minis caught my eye. When I saw Modok, I just knew I had to figure a way to incorporate that mini into an upcoming dungeon.

Anyone out there use HeroClix minis in their games, either for monsters or PC's?

Only for monsters. Several are perfect for Large creatures, such as ogres and trolls. Since I'm not willing to pay collectors' prices for minis produced by WOTC, I've found myself short on the Large creatures. HeroClix are an inexpensive alternative.

I don't have any but I know some people who do. Some of the models are really nice. The bases don't really match up to the 1" grid but it's easy enough to cut off the base and glue on a normal-sized one.

And the scenery!
A local place is having a big sale on WizKids stuff right now so I'm gonna pick up seige engines, scenery, and a Solavani wednesday... must remember to call them

Yeah, I use a lot of Heroclix and MK minis. I just pull them off the little click dial. Other than some that can be used for monsters, most HC are more suited for modern day stuff (I run something of a crossover, so guns and people in skin tight clothing aren't out of place)

Not Heroclix (although I did just take an extra Destiny to use as an Eberron Changeling). However, lots of Mage Knight figures. Some of the Mage Knight heroes, in particular, ooze personality.

A few important NPCs that have been used:

I've used the SWAT guys and the thugs a lot in d20 Modern games. Probably some of the best modern minis you can get . . . once you cut the Clix off of `em :)

Quite a few, actually.

Silver Samurai - a samurai in chrome armor
Killer Frost - transparent blue gal in robe. Good for ghosts, etc.
Scarlet Witch - spellcaster in seductive red outfit
Mole Man - short guy in robes with staff and big goggles. Gnome artificer?
Mandarin - flying Oriental wizard in flame-themed robe.
Fury - naked black-skinned white-haired gal with bat wings, on a flight base. Drow feyri?
Boon - martial artist guy with staff, blue-and-white tunic.
Wolfsbane - female werewolf in hybrid form, no tail. Skintight outfit is rather modern.
Black Panther - muscular guy in all-black skintights and cloak, pointy-eared mask, gold jewelry. Looks cool, but again, rather modern.
Blade - dark-skinned vampire dual-wielding katanas. Modern-style glasses.
Ian Nottingham - guy with katana, intricately-embellished nobleman-type outfit.
Rasputin - stereotypical evil wizard, brandishing sword.
Calypso - I think she's some sort of punk-rock mutant, but the figure is great for a shaman.
Hercules - Muscular thug in kilt and boots.
Cheetah - naked female were-cat in hybrid form, with long tail.
Sabretooth - male were/shifter, skintight outfit but could easily be repainted as naked (no shoulderpads or other protruding bits of gear). No tail
Hepzibah - female were-skunk hybrid in pirate outfit. Could easily be repainted as fox, squirrel, or something else with a big fluffy tail.
Sydney Savage - woman in skintight black leather with Really Big Whip - perfect for a Lasher
Hand Ninja - two versions, one with a katana, one with two nunchucks. Standard generic ninja.
Arashi - heavily tattoed oriental guy in baggy trousers, performing a side kick while holding a katana back out of the way. Good martial artist figure.
Tomoe - oriental female in short skirt, long-sleeved jacket, thigh-high boots, with two fans. Outfit is somewhat modern, but could be some sort of wizard.
Scarab - oriental female in tight spikey black leather, dual-wielding katanas, elaborate facepaint. I picked up a bunch of these as "ninja-mimes", and the following three as mime leaders:
Kabuki - oriental female in skintight outfit and facepaint, dual-wielding sickles. Somewhat modern outfit
Shi - oriental female in facepaint, red-and-black outfit of thigh boots, loincloth, bra, cutaway jacket, with dual katanas. Somewhat modern outfit.
Yukio - oriental female in facepaint, long flowing kimono, wild hair, one arm and hand have dark, "evil" look (long clawed fingers, etc.)

(Edit) Oh, and how could I forget Gorilla Grodd - big grey gorilla in purple cape and loincloth, massive gold jewelry, holding a skull in one hand and gesturing with the other as if spellcasting. Makes a great, if unusual, BBEG. (necromancer gorilla???)
