Use any HeroClix minis in your RPG?

As stated already- Modern games I use them a lot. Police, Swat, Thugs and so on.

As for DnD-

Furies, Troll (looks like a bugbear on steriods), Soloman Grundy (frankenstein), Wasp unique (as a fairy / fey) and now I am using their bodies to caste new ones.

Cut up original Brainiac and with Games Workshop Necrons I am creating Warforged. Beast would be a great Shifter if repainted.

Does anyone know of a good place to check out all the Hero Clix and Mage Knight minis? I checked out the WizKids site but it's a pain to browse through them all (and there are SO many of them). Is there a thumbnail gallery of them online anywhere?

I wonder, with the eventual wind down of Mage Knight if that is going to make MK minis cheaper or more expensive. I've been playing MechWarrior for about 7 months now and have got kind of creepy hooked on it. It would be sad for me if Wizkids tanked and took that game with them.

The various Realms sites have a good interface for browsing through the units. THere isn't a group picture, so you have load each unit separately (since the common figures are used for three different versions, you'll see the same sculpt three times.

You might have to be logged in as a member to see the unit pages (there was a recent upgrade that allowed users to rate figures that requires this).

Figures are getting cheaper, however, the values haven't changed too drastically. The chase figures from the last couple of sets still mostly bring $40-$60 each. The last auction for one of the original Four Horsemen went for about $1,200. That's down from what it used to be, but it's still a huge chunk of change.

WizKids isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. They are one of the few hobby game companies growing in the current environment.

I use them a lot, they are really your only practical choice for modern miniatures. Like many others, I pop them off their clik bases and put them on standard bases. I buy them in bulk, and the police/swat minis and generic criminals I use in abundance, and many of the other minis are still pretty good for heroes and villains.

I also use MK minis like that for D&D games, I have maybe a dozen D&D minis, and hundreds of transplanted MK minis. The MK minis were a lot cheaper than the D&D minis, so for a gamer on a budget, it was a pretty easy choice.

I have a probable-PC-for-my-upcoming-game who has a lot of MageKnight figures, and is letting me use them. He is also in another game with me (I'm a PC in the second game). He wasn't at the last game and we felt the lack of figures.

I can't use anything by WizKids, as one of my players will refuse to play, claiming that they're all made by slave labourers in China.

I'm serious.

Does he refuse to play if you use the D&D Collectible miniatures? They are made in the same place (indeed, I saw someone claiming they used the same factory).

If he doesn't know, I wouldn't tell him.

What's not made my Chinese slave laborers these days?
