Using The Hamlet of Thumble without the adventure?

This book is awesome! 3 core classes, a smattering of new feats, rules for dreams, rules for household weapons, an advantage/disadvantage system, all kinds of great stuff. I recommend picking this up.

Any juicy details you can give us?

FWIW the added crunch (classes & new mechanics) is what really pushed Thumble over the top for me.

When I first read the module I had no intention of using the module (sorry Ed) but wanted to use the hamlet as a great ready to use village. While the adventure seems good, I feel the lasting ability to just have a peaceful Hamlet friendly to the PCs is much more valueible.

It's designed to be modular, so you pick the parts you want. :) Some people like the hamlet, others like the adventure, and there are those who like the supplementary rules. If you're using the hamlet now, you can also save the adventure for later, too.

Thumble can serve as a safe home base, but also provide some fun little side quests for PCs during their down time. The residents are detailed enough to use over and over again. You should always add your own design elements, of course, to enrich the experience.

Thanks very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I like putting a lot of extras in each product.

Oester not only includes an adventure, a village, a town, a marsh, a six-level tower, and 14 special encounters, but also:

1 New Template (Abyssal Knight)
1 New Feat
1 New Spell
1 New Skill
6 New Magic Items
2 New Monsters
GM Tips: "Using Better Attack and Defense Descriptions"
6 Good-Aligned Pre-Generated Characters
6 Evil-Aligned Pre-Generated Characters
