Vacation to Baltimore! So what's there?

In a random spur of the moment vacation choice I'm going to be heading off to Baltimore tomorrow. Can anyone recommend some good things to do/places to see/stores to shop at/ restaurants to eat at? Thanks.

Hmm..I've never been to Baltimore, but my boss will be there all next week. Anyone wanna have a party at my office?

I live south of there but Poe's grave and the Baltimore Aquarium are interesting. Plenty of info about them on the net.

A submarine, the USS Torsk, used to sit in the harobr for tourists. I do not know if it is still there, but its a good tour if it is.

What are you up for?

The Baltimore Inner Harbor Area has tons of cool stuff - shopping, aquariums, bars, etc.

If you like history stuff you can visit:

• The Constellation (an 1850s sailing sloop o' war) - Info Here
• Fort McHenry (Birthplace of the National Anthem) - Info Here
• The USS Torsk (WWII Sub - already mentioned above) - Info Here
• Fell's Point (very cool area with tons of bars, eateries, etc) - Info Here (check the "Local Commerce" section for listings)

If you like baseball, check and see if the Baltimore Orioles will be in town (provided you come down before the 8/30 strike date). Camden Yards is one of the best ballparks in the country.

A quick word of caution, the revitalized Inner Harbor area is surrounded by numerous run-down areas. Stray a couple of blocks from the beaten path and you can easily find yourself in an urban combat zone. Stay to the main tourist areas and you should be fine.
