Vampire Slam Attack and Negative Levels

A Vampire that deals 1d6+3 slam damage, and 2 negative levels is effectively dealing 1d6+13 damage?

1d6+3 + 10 (5 for each negative level).

Is this right?

Correct. It's distinguished b/c damage reduction could apply to the energy drain but not to the negative levels. If DR absorbs all the damage, I dunno if the energy drain still occurs or not.

As an aside, does anyone know where to find the base damage for slam attacks when creating/advancing monsters?

Not effectively, no. If it were effectively dealing that damage, then that damage could be healed, but it cannot be. As long as you have those negative levels you have -5 hit points. You do not have 5 hit points of damage.

It's also kept track of separately because Death Ward could negate it (but would not prevent slam damage from occurring.) DR should not interfere with energy drain.

Slam attacks have different categories, so I'd look at monsters of the same type (i.e., outsider, undead, etc.) and size to get an idea of which category of damage is appropriate for the monster.
