Vampires Fly Speed?

I'm almost certain I saw a thread about this before but I can't seem to find it. Did they take away the ability of vampires to fly? The 3.5 MM doesn't seem to mention it.

Yes, the 3.5 vampire does not have any innate flight ability. I was just statting out a vampire BBEG for my campaign and noticed that. Luckily the guy is a high-level wizard (alas, poor PCs ).
