[vanity thread]Tom's feeling ultra-contrarian today

Tom Cashel

First Post
My wife and I just moved into our new house today. Yes, we are first-time, brand-new homeowners, and we're so happy that we're all swelled up with pride and virtually purple from all the swelling and you could just about pop us with a pin we're so happy; they're going to have to surgically remove the %&$#@ smiles from our %$#*@ faces!

And I've been moving tons of crap for three days straight and the stupid movers put black marks on my walls.

So I'm feeling contrary. Just shut your pie hole, eh?

(At least the Rangers scored a win tonight!)

So that's where you've been. I've been wondering.

So you think all is well right now, but just wait until your toilet overflows, your stupid neighbor's dogs keep coming over and pooping on your steps, the homeowner's association starts complaining about the yellow spots in your otherwise perfectly green yard, and your roof needs costly repairs. Yep, homeownership is awesome; welcome to the club :p. Enjoy, my ruthlessly beligerent acquaintance!

:) Congrats on the new home, Hockey Head! :)

Now come the chores. If you do any laundry, throw a load in for me! :D

don't let barauendueaere get you down! owning a home is the greatest.

the black marks on the walls are yours and noone else can do anything about it. go ahead, taste the freedom, put a hammer through the wall, you gotta learn drywal eventually- with a house, you ALWAYS lose the damage deposit.

have fun with it, i am on number five and loving every minute of it :)

Tom,

Congratulations on the home. While you will have more expenses, you do not have to wait for a landlord to get around to fixing a leaking sink or a door. Enjoy the freedom and the responsibility.

You could always paint the wall, or strategically positions some furniture to cover the marks.

Thanks, guys. Freedom from neighbors to the left of me, neighbors to the right of me...into the valley of homeownership rode the two of 'em. It feels great!

Yeh, we came to terms with the marks ("At least the movers got black gunk on the back of the couch--we'll just face that toward the wall!" :) ) and today I'm home from work to bash up the walls with a hammer. Big D, I'm looking foward to all the things you mentioned with relish (to the Homeowner's Association: "Shut yer cakehole!") except one of them...so I bought a plunger.

(Hockey Head. I love it.)
