variant death and dying rules

My intention is to add a bit of realism and increase the tension of dying characters:

Disabled: 0 to 0 - con bonus.

Attacks, damage, skill checks and saving throws at -2
Only standard or move actions
strenuous actions do 1 hp damage.

Unconcious FROM (0 - CON bonus) TO (-10 - Con bonus)
No actions
lose 1 hp per round
stablize 10% chance
any healing will stabilize

Shock: -10 - con bonus to -CON score
no actions
lose 1 hp per round
stabilize 10% chance
fort save DC= 5 + damage or Die
heal check = 10 + damage to become unconscious
Cure Moderate wounds needed to become unconcious

Death: - Con score.

The only problem I see is the term "damage" here. Is that the damage of the blow that killed you or the amount of negative damage you have already taken? Plus I think you meant to say "to become concious" not "unconscious".

One thing I did was to allow characters in the normal unconscious zone to make a Fort save to stay conscious (but still Disabled and losing 1 hp per round). I couldn't tell you how many times a disabled party member saved the rest of the party from a TPK by the fortuitous use of a magic item or with a lucky final blow.
