Versatile Caster

Here is what I have so far.

Feat : Adaptive Caster
Prequisite: Arcane Caster, Wizdom 13
Bonus: By spending a minor action you may change an at-will spell you cast to deliver the damage type of any other at-will spell you know, that spell power is treated as having the new keyword in place of its own for the duration of its effect. Describe the adapted power appropriately.

Feat : Adaptive Mastery
Prerequisite: 11th level, Adaptive Caster
Benefit: Choose any encounter or daily you know, which uses one of the energy types acid cold, fire, lightning, or thunder that power and that energy type are now considered adaptable by the power Adaptive Caster (ie as though they were an at-will in your repertoire.)

This power may be taken more than once, by selecting a new Encounter or Daily.
Humans need love too. ;-)

I like the new feats, they seem like fun. They also seem to have much more of the "vibe" of the existing D&D feats.

To me, though, Adaptive Mastery seems a lot weaker than Adaptive Caster. It only works once per encounter, instead of potentially several times per encounter.

There is still the issue of wizards learning Color Spray just so they can fire the "Radiant Burst" at-will power against the undead.

I seem to have misread Arcane Admixture, I didn't notice you could apply it to an at-will power. That makes it seem plausible though still not that great.

Radiant isnt one of the power types that can be selected? Are you figuring because its in the set of that power and it could be given adaptive mastery...
and one of its multiple energy types could be snuck in to your set of adaptive energies...
I will change "that power and its energy type" to "that power and that energy type"

By taking that one power later choosing an energy not in my at-wills i get a new energy in my core set which might be starting at two...before I had fire and ice in my set and now I have at-wills that include lightning. The second feat enhances the first.

I considered calling them Elemental Caster
and Elemental Mastery.

I want more at-wills this gives it to me in a back door sort of way. ;-)

Feat : Energy Adaptation (meta magic)
Prerequisite: 11th level, Adaptable Caster
Benefit:Once per encounter spend a move action (stationary and concentrating) choose any encounter or daily you know, which uses one of the energy types acid cold, fire, lightning, or thunder that power is now considered adaptable by the power Adaptive Caster.

If you want a little more versatility... in which power you adapt you could do something like the above, I dont like the logic of it as much.. it also doesn't add to the core set of energies, I suppose one could allow that to be done too. But I was thinking either one knows and energy type well enough or one doesnt.

OK, now I understand, everything seems good.

Feat:Elemental Comprehension
Whenever preparing a utility or daily spell from your spell book you are able to see beyond the surface of magics and adapt them to suit your needs, you may set the damage type to match any of your at-wills (or spells made adaptable through mastery).

Perhaps this needs written differently but this is basically the idea Sadrik
mentioned, it isnt bad balance wize it gives really broad versatility if you want and at the same time... well isn't expanded spell book usually more useful... this is just more useful if through foreknowledge you have a bead on your enemies.

I have posted these feats on my Rose Magic page

One thing I like about these feats, they can be visualized as the character being able to understand the inner workings of magic and adjust them or alternately as having a larger spell repertoire.
