If I recall correctly, Flash is only required to support video chat. I've also heard that they're working on a Google+ Hangouts client. I'm not sure what platforms that will require.

This is correct. It actually works on iPad now, but it's just a bit too slow to be usable. Optimizing for iPad is on our "within the next 6 months" roadmap.

Also the Google+ Hangouts integration is out already.

(I'm the creator of Roll20).

This is the hottest project out there right now. It's still in closed beta, but it's thoroughly awesome.

Regretfully the ability to draw lines in Roll20 for all intents and purposes is borked to the point of uselessness. I supported the kickstarter, I'm in the Closed Beta and I stopped looking to see if they fixed this. So, if anyone knows if drawing now works to the point you can actually use it in game, I'd appreciate the heads up ;)

Seriously, it does look good in it's promo videos, but i need something other than a grid, i need a white board / drawing tools.

I've used Table Top Forge. I can use it as a whiteboard and draw, roll dice and upload maps and some basic tokens. It simply does what I need it to do.

Actually, we just released an entire overhaul of the drawing system yesterday. So you should check it out and let us know if it works for your needs now...if not, do let us know about it in the beta forum so we can keep tweaking.

Thanks!

Sounds like a plan! Now all I need is a VTT that supports movement in three dimensions, for my undersea game, and is easy for luddites to learn (I run a chat-based game via IRC and have met with resistance from my players every time I mention MapTool or other VTTs).
