Waiting another month for 4E

So I got $10 credit as an "apology" - so I immediately canceled my gift-set order and ordered the books separately and with the $10 off came to the same price ($61 and change) and will be arriving next week.

No slipcase, but whatever. No big whoop.

I just got notification that my books have shipped. Hopefully that's a good sign. I've never had problems after shipment, but there's a first time for everything I guess. I'll believe it when they're in my hands.

I'm not, but I'm still a fan of D&D and want to read the books and see if there is stuff to steal or if perhaps 4E might be the ruleset for some other game I will run in the future.

Plus, I feel left out of discussions around here lately. I have no idea what people are talking about any more.

They finally arrived.

Weird. Right off the bat, they seem weird. . . It is both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time, like the D&D equivalent of Marvel's "Ultimates" universe. . . But I don't like any of the "Ultimate" titles.
